About Hiking Queers Netherlands

Hiking Queers Netherlands is a meeting group established in 2022 by and for LGBTQIA+ folks that are interested in hiking, being outdoors and nature. We want to:

create a safe, inclusive, diverse and fun space in the outdoors, since it is often considered a heteronormative space. We believe that nature is queer and share and carry out the perspective of queer ecology.

organise multiple events that attract people with different backgrounds, interests and capacities. We have started with hikes but are planning to expand to other outdoor activities (like kayaking, mountain biking and overnight camping) and activist events (like beach cleanups and workshops)

 

by creating a safe space and organising events we hope to build a community, where queer people can meet each other and build meaningful connections
